I am a board-certified psychiatrist who is fellowship-trained in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry; licensed to practice in Washington, California, Florida, and New York. I became a psychiatrist because I want to help people live their most fulfilled lives. I have trained at Weill Cornell, Columbia, the NYU Child Studies Center, Mount Sinai, and currently hold a position as an attending psychiatrist at UCLA. Previous to entering medicine I worked as a musician, a music therapist, a milieu counselor for young people in foster care, and as a teacher’s aide for children with special needs. I bring all of these experiences to my practice along with my medical training at NYC’s foremost academic institutions. I believe that medications are one tool in a toolbox of interventions that can help attenuate suffering and promote wellbeing in my patients. I do not reduce my patients to a set of symptoms. I believe in a holistic, person-centered, and humanistic approach to addressing my patients’ challenges. Psychotherapy, exercise, nutrition, social-relatedness, spiritual-connectedness, and other non-medical interventions are crucial to achieving and maintaining wellbeing. I am an LGBTQIA+ affirmative provider who has worked with queer and gender-expansive individuals throughout my career. You deserve to feel better! Whether you are a first time consumer of mental health services or you are looking for a second opinion on a long-standing issue, I would love to help you find diagnostic clarity and improved functionality.
